About Pól Ó Conghaile:

Newspapers & magazines:
Based in Ireland, I’m a travel writer and journalist writing for a variety of newspapers and online publications – including National Geographic Traveller, The Irish Independent, Cara and The Irish Examiner.

Radio & TV:
I contribute widely to national radio, to shows that have included Radio One’s Today with Pat Kenny, The Last Word on Today FM, Marian Finucane, The Fanning Show on 2FM and Newstalk’s The Right Hook.
Most recently, I produced ‘Fire & Water’, a Radio One documentary following Sligo freediver Feargus Callagy as he attempts a 50m dive… on a single breath. The documentary is a New York Festivals Gold Medal Winner, 2013.
On TV, I featured as travel expert on RTE’s The Afternoon Show, and have contributed to The Consumer Show, The Daily Show, Four Live and TV3′s Ireland AM.

Travel blog:
I’m on the road a lot (occupational hazard), so it made sense to me to write a travel blog relating what I find, as I find it. It’s stuff that catches my attention - good or bad (but mostly good) – stuff I would make a detour to see.
Comments are moderated, and you may sometimes spot a lag between postings and visits where travel has been commssioned for another publication. Deals, prices and special offers should be taken as correct up the date of the blog post only.

Books:
I’m the author of two books: ‘That’s My Baby!’ (Poolbeg, €12.99), and Bar Secrets Dublin (Shopping Secrets, €7.99). Read more about them here.

Copywriting & Consulting:
I work as a consultant and copywriter for some of the highest-profile hospitality brands in Ireland. I was also a judge at the 2011 Blás na hEireann Irish Food Awards, and have been on the programme at the Immrama Travel Writing Festival in Lismore.
